Undefeated Prairieland Punishers Roller Derby Return to Decatur Civic Center May 25th

Decatur, IL. April 29, 2019- Decatur’s premier women’s roller derby league, the Prairieland Punishers, is returning to the Decatur Civic Center with two games on May 25. Doors open at 4:00 with the first whistle at 5:00.

The Punishers’ All Stars (4-0) are taking on Arch Rival Roller Derby’s Fleur Delinquents from Saint Louis first, followed by the Punishers’ Backlash (0-1) facing off with Windy City Rollers’ Haymarket Rioters from Chicago. The All Stars are out for redemption in this exciting rematch against the Delinquents after falling just 8 points short of a win in 2017. This will be the first meeting between the Punishers and Windy City.

The family-friendly event is the second home game of this season, with one final home game on June 22.  Single game tickets are $15 for VIP, $10 for general and $5 for children and available at Giggles, The Bourbon Barrel, and online at: www.punishersderby.com.  Prices increase by $5 at the door.  All children 5 years & younger get in free!

Proceeds from all home games this year will benefit Girl Scouts of Central Illinois, as selected by fans in an online poll in March.  The Punishers have donated over $30,000 to area charities since their inception in 2011.

Established in 2011, the Prairieland Punishers Roller Derby is dedicated to promoting health, wellness, fitness, training, competition, self-growth, community outreach, and sisterhood. A Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) member since 2016, the Punishers currently rank 244 out of 470 member leagues worldwide.
